WHAT IS MEDIGAP PLAN L?
Plan L offers coverage for all the same coverage categories as Plan K. The difference is the percentage of Plan L’s total costs.
WHAT MEDIGAP PLAN L COVERS
The one out-of-pocket expense Plan L covers 100% is the Part A hospital costs and coinsurance.
As for the rest of the coverage categories, Plan L will cover 75% of the following types of leftover expenses:
● Medicare Part B coinsurance or copay
● The first three pints of blood when getting bloodwork
● Part A deductible
● Part A coinsurance or copay for hospice care
● Coinsurance for care received in a skilled nursing facility
WHAT MEDIGAP PLAN L DOESN’T COVER
Medigap Plan L doesn’t cover the Medicare Part B deductible or the Part B excess charges. It also doesn’t cover foreign travel emergency costs.
OUT-OF-POCKET LIMIT
Plan L allows you to pay a certain amount in out-of-pocket costs, and for the remainder of the year, it provides 100% coverage for the out-of-pocket expenses listed in the costs covered.
The Medigap Plan L out-of-pocket limit in 2020 is $2,940. For 2021, the out-of-pocket limit is $3,110.
