GROUP HEALTH PLAN VS MEDICARE: CHOOSING WHAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU

There are a few situations in which you may consider leaving your group health plan:

• Medicare may cover more than what your group health plan does. So you can save more money by dropping your group health plan.

• The employer could terminate benefits due to retirement or other issues. If your insurance is through an employer, you may lose the insurance benefits after you retire.

• You prefer to have a Medicare Advantage policy, which doesn’t allow you to have another form of health insurance

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR MEDICARE

You don’t have to worry about waiting until the General Enrollment Period to sign up for Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage.

Individuals 65 and over are allowed to sign up for a Medicare plan at any time with the Special Enrollment Period. No one should have to go without health insurance. The same applies to you. Call me, and I’ll help you with the rest.
